Dylan Jones eyes Norwich first team
Dylan Jones is targeting a breakthrough into Norwich City's senior squad after gaining valuable experience during pre-season under Philippe Clement. The striker spent time with the first team over the summer, including involvement in the Championship preparations and a win against St Gallen.
Jones sees a clear pathway to the first team but acknowledges the need to deliver strong performances while on loan. "I've had conversations and obviously it's up to me to do the business on the pitch," he told The Pink'un. "I know myself that I'm working as hard as I can day in, day out. I'll end up where I need to end up, hopefully at Norwich. If not, then it is what it is."
Jones thriving on loan at Tranmere
Jones returned to Tranmere Rovers this summer after an injury cut short his initial loan spell in January. His second stint has been productive, with four goals in 12 appearances across all competitions.
The loan is viewed as a crucial step in his development, providing regular senior football and helping him build the physical and mental attributes required at a higher level. Jones is aware that his progress on loan will determine his future at Carrow Road.
Pre-season boost fuels Jones’ ambition
Learning from senior pros
Spending time around Norwich’s senior squad during pre-season has intensified Jones’ hunger to establish himself at the club. "It's definitely made me more hungry to get to that standard. That's where I want to be," he said.
Jones praised the professionalism and character of the first-team group. "Being around top professionals every day, that's what I've got to do. It's a great group. There are no idiots, they're all down-to-earth and great people."
He added: "Everyone was amazing with me and the other young lads coming through, so I couldn't complain about how they welcomed us all during pre-season."
