Christian Titz has officially parted ways with FC Magdeburg, opening the door for several Championship clubs, including Hull City, Norwich City, and Queens Park Rangers, to consider him for their managerial vacancies ahead of the new season.
Hull City acted quickly, dismissing Ruben Selles, while Norwich City followed suit by ending their association with Johannes Hoff Thorup. Meanwhile, Marti Cifuentes has been placed on gardening leave, leaving these clubs with significant decisions to make as they prepare for a competitive campaign.
Titz, a manager with a proven track record, is now available after nearly four-and-a-half years at Magdeburg. The 54-year-old German oversaw 165 matches during his tenure, leading the team to a third-tier title in the 2021/22 season.
Interest in Titz has been confirmed by journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reported that he is available for a relatively modest fee.
Initially, Titz's future at Magdeburg seemed uncertain, with sporting director Otmar Schork stating on the club's website, “Christian came to me after the Paderborn game with the desire to make a change. We are now in close contact, but nothing has been decided yet. The preparations for the new season continue as normal.” However, it was soon confirmed that Titz would be leaving the club.
