Mattsson Urges Fans for Burnley Match
Pelle Mattsson has called on the Carrow Road faithful to raise the roof this weekend as the Canaries go in search of their first Championship points of the new campaign.
Having bounced back from successive league defeats to West Brom and Millwall with a Carabao Cup victory at Cardiff on Tuesday, Philippe Clement's side will look to carry that momentum into Saturday's clash with newly relegated Burnley.
Canaries Aim for First Championship Points
The Clarets have endured a similarly tough start as they adjust to life back in the second tier under new head coach Nicky Hayen, with the visitors still winless heading to Norfolk.
Mattsson is expecting a tough test but is hoping the team can put their slow start behind them by securing all three points.
"100 per cent. We would have liked to have done better in the first two games," he said.
"But now we've had a cup game, and I think we did well. So let's take on the next challenge and go all out, as we usually do. Hopefully, we can get three points and get Carrow Road rocking."
Competition Fuels Team Spirit
The Dane was instrumental in last season's revival under Clement alongside skipper Kenny McLean, with the pair forming a formidable partnership when available.
However, Mattsson isn't taking that for granted this term, with Sam Field and Jacob Wright waiting in the wings.
"I like the competition. That's what makes all of us better. Of course, I want to play every time, and I guess the other midfielders want to play as well," he said.
"So there's competition and a battle every game to start, or if you're on the bench, to come in and do well. That's part of football. I've been used to that all of my career, and the other guys have been there as well. So, yes, it's a good challenge." The Pink'un
