Hull City eye Kellen Fisher move
Premier League newcomers Hull City are exploring a potential deal for Norwich City right back Kellen Fisher, according to The Pink'un. The England U21 international has established himself as Norwich’s first-choice right back over the last two seasons, ahead of Jack Stacey.
Sky Sports reports Hull are keen to understand the terms for a possible transfer but no formal contact has been made between the clubs yet. Fisher has two years left on his Carrow Road contract and has attracted interest from several Premier League sides, including Everton, Brentford and Wolves, as well as clubs outside the UK.
Fisher’s rise and Norwich’s stance
Since joining Norwich from Bromley in 2023, Fisher has impressed with his adaptability and bravery on the ball. Head coach Dean Smith’s predecessor Dean Clement praised Fisher’s development in April, saying: “If you see him for the first time, you think it is not possible this guy plays in the Championship.”
He added, “I said, He's going to struggle against all these beasts, these animals, these physical presences in this league. But he's done brilliantly. Fish is one of the big surprises for me, how he played, the way he behaved, how brave he is on the ball.”
Clement highlighted Fisher’s ability to compete physically despite his size and his versatility across several positions. “I've been really impressed with him the last couple of months, and we're going to keep on pushing him to give him a really good career. And I hope that is for as long as possible here.”
Hull’s recruitment drive and Norwich’s options
Hull City are undertaking a major squad rebuild ahead of their return to the top flight, targeting young players with high potential. They have already signed goalkeeper Jack Butland and are linked with left back Matt Targett and winger Leon Bailey as part of their recruitment.
Norwich are in a strong position to keep Fisher this summer but have a policy of selling young talent if the price is right. Given Fisher’s importance and the club’s Championship ambitions, there will be reluctance to lose him at this stage of his development.
