Norwich City Women Bid Farewell to Legend Natasha Snelling
Norwich City Women legend Natasha Snelling will leave the club this summer after 14 years of service, as the Canaries begin reshaping their squad following a promotion-winning campaign.
Snelling departs as one of the most significant figures in the club's history, having made more than 250 appearances and scored over 110 goals across a glittering spell in yellow and green.
Seven Players Released as City Women Restructure
In addition to Snelling, the club has announced the release of six other players: Ceri Flye, Ellie Bishop, Hope Strauss, Olivia Cook, Holly Mears, and Tamsin Medd-Gill. This decision comes after Andy Cook's departure as head coach last week, marking a significant transition for the team.
Defender Flye and Bishop were the first two players to receive professional contracts as part of the women's set-up. Flye made over 100 appearances for the club after joining from Cambridge City in 2022, while Bishop rose through the ranks from the age of nine to become a consistent member of the first team.
Head of Women's Football Pays Tribute to Departing Players
Head of women's football Flo Allen expressed gratitude towards the departing players, stating, "On behalf of everyone at Norwich City, I'd like to thank the departing players for everything they have done during their time at the club." She emphasized their vital roles in securing this season's promotion and wished them well in their future endeavors.
Allen also highlighted Snelling's contributions, saying, "I’d also like to personally place on record my thanks to Natasha Snelling, who has been a fantastic servant to the club for more than 10 years." For more details, visit The Pink'un.
