Kenny McLean Shines in Scotland Victory
Kenny McLean starred for Scotland in their final home fixture before flying to the World Cup, leading the team to a 4-1 victory over 10-man Curacao at Hampden Park.
The Norwich City captain played the full 90 minutes, providing an assist and wearing the captain's armband after Andy Robertson was substituted.
Scotland's Comeback Against Curacao
Scotland initially fell behind when Sheffield United winger Taith Chong scored for Curacao following a fine individual run. However, the visitors were reduced to 10 men later in the half when striker Jurgen Locadia caught Aaron Hickey with a stray forearm.
This turning point allowed Scotland to mount a comeback, with McLean playing a crucial role. A deflected pass from the 34-year-old found teenager Findlay Curtis, who scored shortly after replacing ex-City loanee Billy Gilmour.
World Cup Preparations Underway
Scotland's dominance continued into the second half, with Lawrence Shankland scoring twice and Ryan Christie adding a late penalty to secure the win. McLean made his 56th cap for Scotland ahead of their first World Cup appearance since 1998.
He will join the Scotland squad flying to the United States for a week of training before their final World Cup preparation game against Bolivia. Scotland's World Cup opener is against Haiti in Boston, with hopes of progressing through a challenging group that includes Brazil and Morocco.
