The decision for Ahmed to join Norwich has raised eyebrows within Canadian football circles, particularly given the club's current difficulties. However, the opportunity to work under head coach Philippe Clement proved to be a significant factor in his choice. The 22-year-old winger indicated that his discussions with Clement and the club's management were instrumental in his decision-making process. “Seeing and talking to Philippe before coming here was really huge for me. Honestly, even speaking to Ben (Knapper) and Lee Dunn before speaking to Philippe was really intriguing to me," Ahmed stated. “I remember getting off the Zoom and looking over to my agent and saying, 'wow.' For me, I think having a coach that really fits your style and personality is huge.”

Since his arrival, Ahmed has already made an impact on the pitch, scoring two goals and providing two assists within his first three appearances. His choice to join Norwich, despite interest from other clubs in the Championship and beyond, appears to be a fruitful decision.

Despite the current struggles faced by the team, Ahmed is confident in his choice. “Honestly, the team is a big club. It's a club that was underachieving but improving. I saw that,” he articulated. “It's a team that usually is either at the top end of the Championship or in the Premier League. Then, it was just about the project; I felt like they really wanted me to come. That was big for me.”

Ahmed’s commitment extends beyond just immediate results. “I understood that although the club was in an unfortunate situation, I didn't want to make a short-term decision. I felt like this club was the right club for me," he added, showcasing his belief in the long-term vision of the club.

With Ahmed's flair and Clement’s strategic guidance, Norwich City aim to reverse their fortunes in the Championship. The football community will be watching closely to see how this promising collaboration develops at Carrow Road.
