Norwich City Finalise Coaching Staff with Key Appointments Ahead of New Season

Norwich City have completed their coaching staff recruitment, appointing Chris Hogg, James Krause, and Ryan Garry to support head coach Liam Manning.

Norwich City have completed the recruitment of their coaching staff, appointing Chris Hogg, James Krause, and Ryan Garry as they prepare for the upcoming season. Hogg steps in as assistant head coach, while Krause takes on the role of first-team coach and analyst. Garry, who replaces Jack Wilshere, brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles.

Negotiations to secure Hogg and Krause from Bristol City have been ongoing since Liam Manning's appointment as head coach earlier this month. Initially, the club sought to avoid compensation fees, but the urgency to finalise a complete coaching team before full training resumes on Monday prompted a breakthrough in discussions this week. The new trio will join existing backroom staff members Tony Roberts and Nick Stanley, both of whom are highly regarded within the club. Roberts oversees goalkeeping duties, while Stanley is responsible for set-piece strategies, having played pivotal roles in the team's operations at the training ground in Colney.

Garry’s appointment is particularly significant, having served as assistant head coach at Belgian club SK Lommel for 18 months, where he worked closely with Manning. The 41-year-old has also forged a strong relationship with Norwich's sporting director, Ben Knapper, during his time at Arsenal, where he was instrumental in youth development and coaching the England under-18s team.

Krause, who has previously worked alongside Manning at multiple clubs, adds a wealth of analytical insight to the coaching staff, having honed his skills in the analytical department at Arsenal.
