Gallacher Exits Hearts as Coaching Restructure Begins

Paul Gallacher's departure from Hearts marks the end of his coaching tenure at the club. The former Norwich City goalkeeper leaves after several years in Edinburgh.

Paul Gallacher to leave Hearts coaching role

Former Norwich City goalkeeper Paul Gallacher is set to leave his coaching role at Scottish Premiership side Hearts when his contract expires this summer. Gallacher, 46, has been part of the Hearts setup in a player-coach capacity following his playing career in Scotland.

Gallacher’s departure was confirmed by The Pink'un, marking the end of his involvement with the Edinburgh club after several years.

Gallacher’s Norwich City career recalled

Gallacher joined Norwich City in July 2004 on a free transfer from Dundee United, shortly after the Canaries secured promotion to the Premier League under Nigel Worthington. During his three years at Carrow Road, he made 31 appearances but struggled to establish himself as first choice.

He spent much of his time as understudy to Robert Green and later found opportunities limited under Peter Grant, who inherited a large goalkeeping squad. Gallacher left Norwich in August 2007, moving on to Dunfermline before continuing his career with several Scottish clubs.

Hearts eye Gordon Marshall as Gallacher’s replacement

Hearts are reportedly looking to appoint Gordon Marshall as their new goalkeeping coach. Marshall currently works with St Johnstone and has previous experience alongside Derek McInnes at Aberdeen and McDiarmid Park.

The club narrowly missed out on the Scottish Premiership title this season after a tense final-day battle with Celtic. The coaching change is part of a wider reshuffle as Hearts prepare for the next campaign.
