Bobby Thomas, a vital component of Coventry's defensive setup, has missed the last three matches due to a suspension following a red card in a previous encounter against Birmingham City. Assistant head coach Joe Edwards provided insight into the situation, suggesting that Thomas's absence may have inadvertently worked in the team's favour due to an ongoing calf issue. “Bobby actually had a calf issue as well as the suspension, so he probably didn’t really miss any games, if you like, because he would have definitely missed a couple of them with the issue,” Edwards explained. He confirmed that Thomas has returned to training, stating, “He’s back in training today. We’ve had a couple of days off, and he’s back with the group, but we’ll have to assess it over the next few days to see if he’s available for the game.” Read more about Diallo and Ahmed Set for Norwich Return Against Wrexham.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden is also making strides in his recovery from an ankle injury. Edwards noted that the young defender has completed his rehabilitation and is now reintegrating with the squad. The coaching staff will evaluate his fitness closer to the match. “Yeah, it’s the same with Kaine,” he said. “He’s had his ankle issue and since then he’s been rehabbing, had days off and is now rejoining the group. So again, on Sunday, we’ll be making a decision on him.”

As Coventry prepare to face Norwich, the return of both Thomas and Kesler-Hayden is expected to bolster their defensive capabilities. The Sky Blues will look to build on their recent league successes, having secured victories against Leicester City and Millwall. Their availability could significantly enhance Coventry's prospects against a Norwich side determined to assert their dominance on home soil.
