Harry Amass is poised to make a significant impact in Norwich City’s Championship campaign after finalising his loan transfer from Manchester United. The 18-year-old left-back expressed optimism about the club's potential for recovery this season, particularly following a challenging spell at Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the campaign. Norwich's decision to secure Amass comes in response to the unfortunate muscular injury sustained by Lucien Mahovo during training, which is expected to sideline him for an extended period. With only Ben Chrisene as the remaining natural left-back, Amass’s arrival is both timely and essential for enhancing the squad’s depth.
Upon joining Norwich, Amass conveyed his readiness to contribute, stating, “I’ve only had maybe a week and a bit off, I’ve been training back at United and playing games regularly. I’m ready to go." He further emphasised his enthusiasm for the club's current trajectory, saying, “Norwich are in a good position, making a step up at the moment and going forward. I wanted to be a part of it and I’m looking forward to it.” Read more about Sargent Targets Toronto Move as Norwich Future Uncertain.
Bringing vital Championship experience, Amass is eager to play a pivotal role in the team's resurgence under manager Philippe Clement. He articulated his playing style: “I would say I’m someone that’s good on the ball, I like the ball, I want the ball. I try to be exciting for the fans, for anyone watching at home or in the stadium. I love getting on the ball and trying to make things happen. I give a lot for the team, I’m hardworking.”
Despite a challenging season with Sheffield Wednesday, where he managed to leave a positive impression, Amass is now set to continue his development in a more supportive environment at Carrow Road. He noted, “They want me to get more experience, get better at a few things, maybe off the ball. I think you can always get better everywhere; more games, different coaching, facilities, it can all make my game even better.”
Excited about the opportunity that lies ahead, Amass remarked, “They want me around at the end of this season; we’ll see what happens when I go back. They’re excited for me to go out now and show what I can do, and keep getting better.”
With Amass joining the squad, Norwich City supporters are eager to see how this young talent can aid the club’s quest for safety and a stronger finish in the Championship this season.
