Aboh Joins Boston on Emergency Loan as Norwich Seek Development

Norwich City forward Ken Aboh has joined Boston United on an emergency loan, aiming to gain first-team experience in the National League. He is set to debut this evening.

Norwich City forward Ken Aboh has joined Boston United on an emergency loan deal, aiming to gain vital first-team experience in the National League. The 20-year-old has been assigned the number 24 shirt for the Pilgrims, who are looking to bolster their squad following a challenging start to the season marred by injuries.

Aboh is set to make his debut for Boston United this evening as they travel to Altrincham for a match kicking off at 7:45 PM. This loan presents a crucial opportunity for Aboh to showcase his talents and make an impact away from Carrow Road.

In the summer of 2024, Aboh signed a new three-year contract with Norwich City, quelling concerns over a potential free transfer amid interest from several Premier League clubs. His contract runs until 2027, with an option for Norwich to extend it for an additional year. He made his Championship debut in a commanding 5-0 victory against Rotherham United shortly after his signing.

Aboh's previous loan experience includes a stint at League One side Stevenage, where he faced challenges in securing playing time, appearing in just seven matches and scoring once before returning to Norwich in January. He then spent the remainder of the 2024-25 season with Colchester United, where he encountered similar difficulties, making only two appearances.

After a quiet summer transfer window with minimal interest in Aboh, he returned to the under-21 squad as captain. In the current season, he has shown promising form, netting two goals and providing four assists in nine matches.

With Norwich academy players Dylan Jones and Errol Mundle-Smith recently making strides into the first team—Mundle-Smith even making his debut during a 2-0 defeat to Hull—Aboh is acutely aware of the competition for a place in the senior squad. Last season, Norwich midfielder Finley Welch also spent time on loan at Boston, making a notable impact before suffering a season-ending injury.

Norwich City's official website expressed the club’s support for Aboh, stating: "All at the club wish Ken the best with his loan move." As he embarks on this new chapter with Boston United, Aboh will be eager to establish himself and contribute significantly to their campaign.
