Wolfsburg Target Norwich's Josh Sargent as Transfer Speculation Grows

Wolfsburg are reportedly leading the chase to sign Norwich City's Josh Sargent.

Wolfsburg are reportedly leading the chase to sign Josh Sargent from Norwich City, as reported by The Pink'un. The 25-year-old striker has made a significant impact in the Championship, scoring 44 goals in 98 appearances, which has attracted attention from clubs across Europe and the United States.

German publication Kicker indicates that Wolfsburg, under new manager Paul Simonis, are eager to strengthen their attacking options following the departures of key players such as Kevin Behrens, Bartosz Bialek, and Felix Nmecha. With uncertainty surrounding the futures of forwards like Jonas Wind and the on-loan Mohammed Amoura, Sargent could provide the firepower they need.

However, securing the American international may not come cheap. Sargent is tied to Norwich City until 2028, giving the club a strong negotiating position.

Sporting director Ben Knapper has made it clear that any interested party will need to meet a significant valuation. "Josh has got three years left on his contract and whilst we understand that he’s going to have interest in the market, and that's natural for a player of that level, we’re in a strong position as a club. But somebody’s going to have to come with a big level, I think, to prise them away," Knapper stated last month.
