The decisive moment came in the fourth minute when Norwich's Amankwah Forson inadvertently scored an own goal. Forson deflected a cutback from Swansea's forward Eom Ji-sung, resulting in the ball finding its way past Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn from close range.

In added time, Sainz had a chance to salvage a point for Norwich but failed to convert from close range, as Swansea held on for the victory.
