Norwich City are in talks with Silkeborg IF over the potential signing of midfielder Pelle Mattsson as they gear up for the upcoming Championship season.
The 23-year-old has emerged as a primary target for the Canaries, with initial negotiations already underway regarding a transfer.
Danish media outlet Bold reports that Norwich's opening bid of £1.75 million for Mattsson was turned down by Silkeborg, however, talks between the two clubs are ongoing.
Complicating matters for Norwich are the reported pursuits from Championship rivals Portsmouth, which adds urgency to their efforts to secure the talented defensive midfielder.

Jasper Stuker, Silkeborg’s sporting director, has previously expressed a desire to retain Mattsson as the club prepares for their European Conference League qualifiers. Recently, however, he indicated a readiness to accelerate transfer discussions.
