This latest deal reflects his on-field performances and influence around Colney, with his impact also stretching to the Nest, home of the club's Foundation. McLean has played a key role in mentoring younger players during visits in the local community, offering guidance and support to inspire the next generation.

His efforts saw him deservedly named the PFA 2025/26 Community Champion for Norwich City, with Freya Symonds selected as the women's team representative. Read more about Bryson Targets Youth Development as Norwich Appoints New Scout.

McLean's Commitment to Community Growth

When collecting his award at the Foundation's hub in Horsford, McLean outlined the importance of the work to the county of Norfolk. "It's obviously amazing. There's a lot of work that goes on here and throughout the community," said the 34-year-old. "To be a part of that, to play a role in it, to do what I can to help, is amazing."

McLean admitted the award meant a lot but expressed his determination to do even more. "We still want to allow this community to grow and there's so much more that we can do," he stated. "You see people thriving; it's amazing. The small gestures that we can do are something I hope we continue to do."

Foundation's Future Secured by Player Generosity

The almost £80,000 believed to have been donated by the City playing squad in February will help sustain many of the activities and programs the Foundation puts on across the county. McLean emphasized the importance of this support, stating, "It allowed them to continue some of the work that they were doing because I think some was maybe in a bit of jeopardy."

Stevie Bramble, the Community Sports Foundation Director of Education & Programmes, elaborated on McLean's impact, noting, "You couldn't get someone more positive than Kenny. He does a lot for us at the Foundation; he's been instrumental in terms of some of the support and mentoring of younger players." McLean's commitment to the community exemplifies the strong bond between Norwich City Football Club and its charity efforts, showcasing the magic they deliver together.
