Manning has been absent from the Terriers since March, remaining in Norfolk with his family. The club's management confirmed that he will not be returning to the Accu Stadium, marking the conclusion of his tenure.

“Stepping down from Huddersfield Town has been a difficult decision, but one I feel is best for the Club, my family and myself at this time,” Manning stated in an official announcement. He expressed gratitude towards the fans for their unwavering support during this challenging period, saying, “It has been a privilege to manage this team and be a part of this community. I am grateful to the fans for their support and compassion in recent months.”

Manning also acknowledged the understanding shown by the club's management during his absence.
