Toure Targets World Cup Glory After Stunning City Streak

Mo Toure aims to carry his impressive goal-scoring form from Norwich City into the World Cup with Australia, having netted nine goals in 11 matches.

Mo Toure's Impressive Goal-Scoring Streak

Mo Toure is striving to take his hot run of Norwich City goal-scoring form onto football's biggest stage this summer.

The striker has made a stunning impact since his move to Carrow Road in February from Danish side Randers, netting nine goals in 11 Championship matches, including two hat-tricks against Oxford United and Bristol City.

Preparing for the World Cup Challenge

Toure has now linked up with the Australian squad in the USA ahead of their tournament opener against Turkey next month and is aiming to replicate his prolific start to life at Norwich in the World Cup.

"It's a great feeling as a striker, especially when you know you're doing your job, and our job is to score goals," Toure said.

"Of course, there's a lot more to it than that, but when you're scoring goals, you're doing something right. So I just want to keep that form going in the next season and hopefully into the tournament."

Overcoming Injury and Staying Focused

Toure's upward trajectory has caught many by surprise and comes in spite of a groin injury that sidelined him for five matches.

During his recovery, there were two objectives driving Toure - one was to return to help City finish strong, and the other was to return to Australia's plans, having missed their March international camp, a key one for their World Cup preparation.

"There's never a great time to be injured, but I feel like when you get injured and have something big coming up in the next couple of months, it gives you the drive in your rehab to take it more seriously and be back better," Toure explained.

"I still have a lot to do now in camp, and nothing's guaranteed. So I'm just head down working hard and learning every day," he added.
