Mirko Topic's Comeback with U21s
Mirko Topic stepped up his Norwich City comeback by featuring for the Canaries U21s in their 4-2 victory against West Ham alongside first team duo Ante Crnac and Bruno Alves.
The Serbian last featured in Philippe Clement's second game in charge of City against Oxford United last November, with an ACL injury keeping him sidelined ever since.
Crnac and Alves Boost Fitness Levels
He was joined by Crnac as City searched to improve his fitness levels after struggling to make a significant impact from the bench in their 1-0 defeat to Southampton in midweek, while Alves got minutes in the back four as he waits for his Championship opportunity.
City boss Philippe Clement and sporting director Ben Knapper watched on as Topic featured for the first half while Crnac was handed 70 minutes.
Impressive Performance from Young Canaries
City's attack included Elliot Myles, who netted an impressive brace, plus Botan Ameen and Finlay Corke. Crnac started brightly and played a key role in City's opener inside two minutes.
West Ham's equaliser came before the 10-minute mark courtesy of Daniel Cummings, who made no mistake from close range. City saw chances from Jake Glossop, Towler, and Corke denied by Finley Hooper in the West Ham goal before their equaliser arrived courtesy of Myles.
Myles continued to threaten throughout the contest and netted City's third goal in the 67th minute. Towler secured his brace to cap off an improved second half for City's youngsters, sweeping in from Alan Domeracki's clever corner.
