Solis Ruled Out for Norwich and Derby Showdowns

Birmingham City midfielder Jhon Solis will miss crucial Championship matches against Norwich City and Derby County due to injury, leaving the Blues short in midfield.

Jhon Solis ruled out for Norwich and Derby trips

Birmingham City midfielder Jhon Solis will miss their upcoming Championship matches against Norwich City and Derby County due to injury. The 21-year-old was left out of the squad for the 2-2 draw with Wolves on Sunday after picking up a knock in the recent game against Southampton.

According to The72, Solis is expected to be sidelined for around a week to 10 days. Blues manager John Eustace said: "Jhon just got a knock right at the end of the Southampton game. He's going to be a week to 10 days we think. We'll just have to see how he goes day by day."

Birmingham midfield injury crisis deepens

Birmingham City’s midfield options are stretched with several players currently injured. Alongside Solis, Max Bird, Marc Leonard and Taylor Gardner-Hickman are all sidelined, leaving the Blues light in central areas.

Impact on upcoming fixtures

Paik Seung-ho and Tomoki Iwata started against Wolves as Birmingham coped with their depleted squad. The absence of Solis, a key figure in midfield, will be a blow ahead of the trip to Carrow Road on Wednesday and the visit to Derby County at Pride Park this weekend.

Manager Eustace acknowledged the challenge: "We're a little bit lighter in midfield depth-wise because we've got a few in that area that are injured at the moment but I thought Paik and Tomoki lasted well."

Jhon Solis’ journey to Birmingham City

Solis joined Birmingham City on a long-term contract this summer, running until June 2030. The Colombian midfielder impressed during his loan spell at St Andrew’s last season, making a significant impact in the Championship.

Before moving to England, Solis developed through Atletico Nacional’s academy and then spent time in Spain with Girona, where he made 61 appearances. His progression has been steady, and he is considered a key player for Birmingham’s plans this season.
