Pelach Exits West Ham as Coaching Overhaul Begins

West Ham United have parted ways with Narcis Pelach following Graham Potter's dismissal. The club reassesses its coaching staff after a poor start to the season.

West Ham United have made a significant change to their coaching staff following the dismissal of Graham Potter, resulting in the departure of Narcis Pelach, who was part of Potter's backroom team. This overhaul comes after a disappointing start to the Premier League season, prompting the club to reassess its coaching structure entirely. Pelach joined West Ham in January after a challenging stint as head coach at Stoke City. His time at the London Stadium lasted just eight months, culminating in Potter's exit after 25 matches in charge. He is not alone in his departure; fellow coaches Bruno Saltor, Billy Reid, Casper Ankergren, and Linus Kandolin have also left the club.

Reflecting on his time with West Ham, Pelach expressed his disappointment with the team's performance, stating, “We are really disappointed to not have done better. We worked very hard to achieve the results we wanted but it was not enough.” He also took a moment to thank Potter, saying, "I would like to thank Graham Potter for giving me the opportunity to work for such an incredible club. To the players and all staff for your commitment, dedication and respect. I sincerely appreciate all the warmth and kindness given to us."

Pelach's coaching career includes various roles, notably his time at Norwich City, where he worked under David Wagner and Johannes Hoff Thorup. He transitioned to a head coaching position at Stoke City last October but was replaced by Mark Robins after just 19 matches, despite bringing along his colleagues Paul Clements and analyst Harrison Glew.

As Pelach departs West Ham, the football community will be watching closely to see what his next career move will be. Meanwhile, Norwich City have appointed former Arsenal and England international Jack Wilshere, who briefly served as interim head coach before Liam Manning took the reins in the summer.
