Norwich City and Wrexham chase Augustine Boakye
Norwich City and Wrexham are both interested in signing Saint-Etienne winger Augustine Boakye before the transfer window closes. According to The72, The72, the 25-year-old Ghanaian has impressed in Ligue 2 this season, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 31 appearances.
Boakye joined Saint-Etienne in July 2024 from Wolfsberger AC and has a contract until 2028. He has experience in the Europa Conference League and was named in Ghana’s 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, although he did not feature in the tournament. His versatility as a winger capable of playing on both flanks makes him an attractive option for Norwich, especially after Ali Ahmed’s injury and the departure of Matej Jarusek.
Wrexham are reportedly keen to add Boakye to their squad as well, aiming to push their summer spending beyond £20 million. Norwich may need to act quickly to secure his signature amid competition from both Wrexham and Anderlecht.
Norwich City eye Fenerbahce winger Anthony Musaba
Norwich City are reportedly interested in signing winger Anthony Musaba from Fenerbahce before the transfer window shuts on 1 September. The 25-year-old attacker has made 24 appearances for the Turkish side this season, scoring two goals and providing six assists, according to The72, The72.
Musaba is under contract in Istanbul until June 2030 but has attracted interest from several Championship clubs, including West Ham, Wolves and Hull City. Having previously played for Sheffield Wednesday between 2023 and 2025, Musaba is familiar with the demands of the Championship, where he scored 12 goals in 80 appearances.
Norwich could see Musaba as a valuable addition to their attacking options, especially with Ali Ahmed sidelined by an ACL injury. His pace and experience in the league would provide much-needed competition and depth on the wings.
Norwich’s winger situation after Ali Ahmed injury
Norwich City’s wide attacking options have been hit by the long-term injury to Ali Ahmed, who suffered an ACL tear. This has increased the urgency to bring in reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
Current squad and recovery updates
Philippe Clement has Ante Crnac and Pape Amadou Diallo working towards returns on the left flank, but both are not yet fully fit. This means the club needs a short-term solution capable of playing on either wing to cover while they recover.
Signing a versatile winger like Augustine Boakye or Anthony Musaba would provide cover on the left and competition on the right, complementing recent signing Andre Brooks. This would represent smart business for Norwich, balancing immediate needs with future squad depth.
