Norwich City eye Lille winger Ichem Ferrah
Norwich City are reportedly interested in signing Lille winger Ichem Ferrah ahead of the next transfer window. The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at SC Cambuur, where he scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions. Ferrah is under contract with Lille until June 2027 and is expected to return to the French club for pre-season.
According to The72, Norwich are admirers of Ferrah and keen to bring him to England. However, they face competition from several other clubs including FC Copenhagen, Malmo, Feyenoord, Genk and Gent.
Ferrah’s rise and loan spells in Europe
Ferrah began his career with UJS Cheminot Tourcoing and CS Neuville before joining Lille’s academy. He has represented Lille at various youth levels but has only made two first-team appearances so far. To gain experience, he was loaned to FC Rouen prior to his move to SC Cambuur.
His performances in the Dutch second tier helped Cambuur secure promotion back to the Eredivisie, with Ferrah playing a key role in their campaign. His ability to contribute goals and assists has made him a player in demand across Europe.
Norwich’s recruitment focus ahead of Championship season
With Philippe Clement preparing for his first full season in charge, Norwich City are looking to strengthen their squad after finishing ninth in the Championship last term, eight points shy of the play-offs. The Canaries lost 2-1 at Hull City on the final day, highlighting the need for added attacking options.
Ferrah could provide competition and depth in the forward line, offering a promising young talent to bolster the squad. Norwich will need to get their recruitment right if they are to mount a serious challenge for promotion next season.
