Norwich City have completed the signing of highly-rated winger Luke Chukwu from St. Patrick's Athletic. The 18-year-old joins the Canaries on a long-term deal.

Norwich City have secured the signing of highly-rated teenage winger Luke Chukwu from St. Patrick's Athletic, adding fresh talent to their squad. Chukwu will initially join the club's development structures, where he is expected to make a significant impact with both the under-18 and under-21 teams in the coming months. Having represented Ireland at various youth levels, including under-15 and under-17, he arrives with valuable experience from his time at the academies of Bohemians and St. Patrick's Athletic.

The Canaries faced strong competition from several clubs in the Premier League and Championship keen to secure Chukwu's services. Ultimately, Norwich's commitment to providing a clear pathway for player development proved decisive. Upon the announcement of his transfer, Chukwu expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I feel brilliant. It's a long time coming, but I'm glad the deal is done now and I'm ready to kick on." In addition to his eagerness for the challenges ahead, Chukwu noted, "I just felt that for me it was the best pathway. I felt when I came here, everyone was so warm and welcoming and the pathway was perfect for me. I want to try and play as much as possible, score as many goals and assists as possible and hopefully that takes me where it should take me."

Chukwu's signing aligns with Norwich's broader strategy to tap into the Irish market, following the successful transitions of Adam Idah and Andrew Omobamidele, both of whom progressed from the Canaries' academy to lucrative opportunities elsewhere. Norwich also have Emmanuel Adegboyega on their roster, another player acquired directly from Ireland, although the defender's future remains uncertain amid growing interest from lower divisions in the EFL.
