Clement Praises Medic's Professionalism
Jakov Medic was the model professional for Philippe Clement after falling out of favour at Norwich City prior to a deadline day loan move to FC Utrecht.
The powerhouse centre back had limited game time under Clement at Carrow Road but has sealed a season-long move back to the Eredivisie after a previous stint at Ajax.
Utrecht negotiated a buy option for a player who was not part of Clement's plans. Clement noted, "With Jose, with Ruairi, Harry and Bruno showing really good things in the last couple of weeks, five centre halves would have been too much." He added that Medic would not have many chances to play and that it was a better solution for him to play elsewhere.
Medic Reflects on Norwich Experience
Medic, speaking to FC Utrecht's official channels, admitted his time in Norfolk had not worked out. "This is a new challenge. I didn't play very much last season but that is behind me now," said the 27-year-old, who made 18 appearances in his debut campaign in England.
He expressed his desire to play with passion and heart for the FC Utrecht fans, stating, "There were some other clubs interested in me but since I had been here before at Ajax, I already knew the league and the fans."
Upcoming Debut for FC Utrecht
Utrecht have picked up one point from their opening four league games, but Medic is in line for a debut on Saturday against Go Ahead Eagles. He mentioned, "It is still the start of the season. Many games ahead and we have to focus on the future. I have been told we had some main players missing and I am here to bring my experience."
