Kvistgaarden Targets Momentum After Charlton Triumph

Mathias Kvistgaarden believes Norwich City can build on their 3-1 victory at Charlton, urging the squad to maintain momentum in the Championship.

Kvistgaarden hopes Charlton win sparks run

Norwich City ended a difficult run with a 3-1 victory at Charlton, and Mathias Kvistgaarden is optimistic this can be the platform for improved Championship form. After eight defeats in 11 games, the win provided much-needed relief for the squad and fans alike.

Kvistgaarden, who scored and assisted in the match, told The Pink'un, "Finally, I think that is the word. We've been in a period where we haven't actually been able to get the results we really wanted, and I think in some games we actually deserved."

He added, "So to go here, it's a hard place to play, but to show our fans, and there were so many today, that we still can do it. That's wonderful."

City must build on Valley victory

Norwich’s challenge now is to ensure the win at the Valley is not an isolated moment. The Canaries have struggled to maintain momentum this season, with promising performances often followed by setbacks.

Kvistgaarden acknowledged there is still work to do but believes the team showed enough to deserve the win. "I think when we look at it, of course, there was also a lot of things that we still can work on, but if we look at it overall, I think we came and we made a performance that gave us the chance to get a deserved win," he said.

He stressed the importance of taking things one game at a time in a long Championship season. "It's a big league. It's a long, long season. So there's so many games left. So we have to take it one step at a time."

Kvistgaarden confident in City’s quality

The Danish forward has experienced the ups and downs of the Championship and is confident Norwich have the quality to turn their fortunes around.

Turning form around

"It has been tough, of course, but it's football. It goes up and down and sometimes you get into a run. We saw it also last season. We went into a run first that was not what we wanted, but afterwards we went into a crazy one," Kvistgaarden said.

"We know in the team and the staff and the club that we can turn these things around because we have the quality for it," he added.

Focus on recovery and preparation

Looking ahead, Kvistgaarden highlighted the need for recovery and preparation ahead of the next fixture. "Now the next thing is to meet them tomorrow, do some good recovery and then prepare in the best way for the next game."
