Clement Targets Three Points for Delia's Emotional Return

Philippe Clement aims to secure a vital win for Norwich City as Delia returns to Carrow Road for the first time since her husband's passing. The match against Portsmouth promises to be a poignant occasion.

Philippe Clement's Tribute to Delia

Philippe Clement insisted Norwich City will go all out to give Delia the three points ahead of an emotional Carrow Road return to celebrate the life of her husband, and fellow honorary life president Michael Wynn Jones.

Clement confirmed Delia is expected to be in attendance on Saturday for the first time since the recent death of her husband, and the club's ex-joint majority shareholder, to watch Portsmouth's Championship visit.

Past as well as present players and staff will be part of a pre-match celebration of Wynn Jones' devotion to the Canaries from the terraces to the boardroom.

Emotional Game for Norwich City

“It’s a really special game, also this one. Delia will be back for the first time, so it’s going to be also an emotional game around that, and the biggest thing that I now wish is to give Delia the three points,” said Clement.

“That would be the best present we can give her in these difficult times. I think it’s a really big thing for my side also. After all the love that she gave this club and to me and my family, I hope we all of us can give her the three points.”

Clement expressed his desire to be on the pitch, stating, “I’m jealous that I cannot be on the pitch anymore because it’s the nicest place where you can do that.”

Focus on Performance and Results

Clement wants his squad to rise to the occasion, emphasizing the importance of a good performance. “You need to be balanced with your emotions, and you need to be in control of everything,” he said.

He noted, “It’s an important part of winning games that you have control of your emotions. I can guide the team, I can help them, and then that’s the difficult part about the job.”

Clement believes the team must focus on their journey and performance rather than just results. “The day this team, or any team in the world, only focus on results, you will not get it because you forget what you need to do along the way,” he added.
